When you get a French driver's license for the first time?
The joy of driving was considered a privilege of the rich. Therefore, a Driver's license in France costs "a penny". Just to enroll in a driving school, you first have to spend about 80 euros and then pay for the theory (150-250 euros) and each of the 28 mandatory driving lessons (45 euros) separately - in addition to paying for the exam (100 euros ). Second, there's no guarantee that a new driver's license will hold it for life - the fine points system introduced in France can quickly have a fan's driving license revoked for violating traffic rules.
So you have decided to go
to driving school. It was better if it was a high-ranking school - in the
future this would be an important moment for re-exams.
The theory lessons
for French Driving License shifted to a basic
subscription (the closer the driving school is to the capital, the more
expensive it is). Most often, this subscription includes the opportunity to
attend countless theory courses at a driving school and to take theory exams
with a simulator. If the first attempt of the exam is not successful, each
additional test will cost 60-130 euros. If you do not have money, there is a
special program where the municipality can cover up to 80% of the cost of
training for 60 hours of public works for free, that is, at no cost. Two weeks
of road sweeping and unexpected encounters with friends and acquaintances - and
most of the money for driving school is in your pocket.
Large corporations,
corporations and businesses can also encourage their employees by paying
to buy French driving license. When theory
passes successfully (and according to statistics, 60% of candidates pass first
time), move on to practice. You can learn to drive not only with the
instructor, but also with relatives or acquaintances who have a driver's
license and driving experience. After that, however, you still have to complete
the mandatory 20 hours of driving school training.
You must learn to drive
and pass the practical part test within three years of passing the theory test.
If you fail the test the first time, you can try again with a maximum of five
tries. If it doesn't work the fifth time, you'll have to start over.
During the practice test
you have to drive 35 minutes. It is time for a test drive. After the exam is
completed and passed, you will have to wait three days to get your French
driver's license. 6 points are earned immediately and this is
before you reach three years of driving experience. After that collected 12
points.
What's the point for?
Each violation eliminates a certain number of points. Two points deducted for
talking on a cell phone at the wheel, and three points for not wearing a seat
belt. If there are no points, the SIM will be cancelled. If less than five
years have passed since it was issued, it can be recovered by repeating the
practical part of the exam. After five years, the theoretical part must be
completed.
Sometimes lost points can
be recovered. But for this, you need to go to paid courses. So breaking traffic
rules in France is a luxury.
